Brooklyn Knox

Pastor of Grace students & Young Adults
Forge Spiritual Life Pastor

I trusted in Jesus Christ when I was 4 years old at my house with my parents.  I was baptized when I was 7 years old by my dad, here at Grace.  I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Counseling High-Risk Youth.  My parents are Rick and Shelley Long and my three siblings are:  Jordan, Brittany and Jared.  I also have an amazing sister-in-law, Kym and an awesome brother-in-law, Chad.  And of course, 5 incredible nieces and nephews - Kinzlee, Jace, Zoey, Calvin and Rayne who bring so much joy to my life.  I have had the amazing privilege to go four times to the Amazon Jungle in Peru - and each trip completely changed my perspective and attitude on life as well as my relationship with God.  I continue to learn every day how God's plans are much greater than my own.  I am also working on what it means to give over control of my life, moment by moment, and be thankful for everything I've been given.  He has given me an incredible family and community of friends and I am so blessed to have their influence in my life.  I'm also beyond blessed to get the opportunity to attend and work at the best church and see the gospel shared to everyone who comes!

What is your favorite season & why?

I love every season but I love Fall because of the changing colors and the possibility of snow and perfect temperatures!

What or who inspires you most?

My parents are my biggest inspiration.  I do not know any other people who are more caring and sacrificial than my two parents, they will do anything for anyone!  They also know how to live life to the fullest and make life as enjoyable as it can be!

What is your favorite treat or snack?

My favorite dessert is cookie dough ice cream.

One thing people don't know about you?

People may not know that I am left-handed but I play a lot of sports (except basketball) with my right hand.

What is your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been accepting God's plans for my life and not my own.  I also have a very hard time saying "no" to people because I want to help everyone I can.

What is your favorite quote?

Obstacles don't have to stop you.  If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.  Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. - Michael Jordan
