I accepted Christ when I was very young, during Sunday School at the First Christian Church in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. I was baptized when I was in high school at a Methodist church in Westminster, Colorado. I currently live in Westminster with my daughter, Becky and my grandson Brendan. I also have a married granddaughter, Brooklyn and a wonderful, godly grandson-in-law, Kameron. My walk with Christ has not always been on the “straight and narrow”, but God has been faithful to carry me through many trials and brought me to Grace in 1997, where I am encouraged and loved by wonderful godly pastors, an amazing staff and many fellow believers.

What is your favorite season & why?

Fall and Winter; I love the changing colors of Fall and how God blankets the earth in beautiful, glittering snow (especially in Colorado) in the winter.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a teacher, and God allowed me to teach in public school for 36 years; I learned much more from the kids than they ever learned from me – it was a blessing.

What is your biggest challenge?

When I lost my son, Josh, and his Dad, Barry, both to suicide. It was at those two times in my life that I felt God pick me up and carry me – just as the poem Footprints talks about.

A place you would like to visit?

I would love to visit Prince Edward Island; Anne of Green Gables, a TV series about a teacher (based on the books by Lucy Maud Montgomery) was filmed there.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Spent reading a good book, or painting a watercolor landscape, or singing along to some of my favorite holiday songs.
