Jason Stocker
Pastor/Elder
I was born in Portland, Oregon. I was practically raised in the church and placed my faith in Christ at 9 years old at our summer church camp. I attended North Park University, a small Christian school in Chicago, and it was there that I discovered my passion for ministry and my desire to serve God in the local Church. I've been in Colorado since 2000 and in 2003, married my smokin' hot wife, Krista. We now have two beautiful kiddos, Abbey and Jake!
What is your favorite season & why?
Baseball season ... because, Baseball
What is your favorite treat or snack?
Is breakfast a treat? I think it is. I could eat breakfast pretty much any time.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up, I always thought being a marine biologist would be really cool. You get to care for animals, swim with dolphins, maybe work at Sea World - that would be so cool! But if I'm being completely honest, more than anything I really wanted to be in Boyz II Men. They were my favorite group and I wanted so badly to sing with them! And no, that dream hasn't completely died yet. Still waiting for that phone call.
What is your favorite movie?
Such a hard question ... Lord of the Rings, Sleepless in Seattle, The American President, Fletch, Harry Potter, Star Wars, anything Disney or Pixar (especially Beauty and the Beast and Mulan), The Goonies ... I'm sure there are lots more.
A place you would like to visit?
This is a tough one. I have a couple different answers for this. First. I would love to go to every baseball stadium. It would be so cool to take a summer and tour around and hit every single one! And second, I would love to visit every Disney park in the world. Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, etc. - sign me up!
What is your favorite quote?
I'm not sure who said it, but I've always appreciated this one: "You can make excuses or you can make progress. You can't make both."
